Job Description

Key Duties and responsibilities:
 Providing technical support to the Regional Project Officers in the implementation of projects and develop project document, report and any other papers;
 Collection of update info and reports from scholars
 Collection of monthly attendance sheet, midterm and final result from university and courses.
 Participate in the projects related meetings
 Establishing relationship with all scholars and relevant stakeholders
 Advise scholars on issues relating to AREP and donor compliance
 Provision of necessary information regarding programs, funding status, reporting time, Involvement of the concerned governmental institution, community and other supporting agencies for the successful achievement of the objectives of the project
 Assist other program staffs at if assessments required.
 To insure scholars/graduate and postgraduate students are aware of what they can expect and their responsibilities as supervisees and to whom they are accountable.
 Regular visiting and monitoring of the projects in the field and developing the M&E report if required
 Regular visiting form dormitory and Resource centers
 Maintaining of a positive relationship with scholars and local authorities.
 Supervising the records of project documents such as attendance sheet of project staff and teachers on daily, weekly and monthly plans scholars attendance. And maintaining records,
 Any other task assigned by regional project officer.

 Fluency in Dari and Pashto with strong communications skills with fluency in English language required.
 At list 3 years of work experience local NGOs or other relevant organizations on capacity building projects
 Able to manage and plan the work effectively and meet deadlines.
 Ability to establish working relationships with the government and non- government organizations and effective outreach and networking at provincial level
 Ability to build strong lines of communication with stakeholders and within the province;
 Ability to visit university and courses to take project required documents
 Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.
 Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.

Scope of Work:
The Regional Project Assistant is responsible for the general Project duties. Under direct supervision of the Project Officer/Project Manager. The Regional project Assistant will support the Regional Project Officer in the smooth implementation of project in the regions. The candidate place of work will be Kabul province.

About Organization / Company: AREP is an independent non-governmental, non-profit Afghan national organization that was established in 1994 and registered with the Ministry of Economy in 2005. AREP's learning experience as a development organization comes from its working association with communities in different areas of Afghanistan. More importantly, the development and growth of the organization have been through an evolutionary process. Tracing its roots to Pakistan in 1994, AREP relocated to Afghanistan in 2003 and its registration with Ministry of Economy in 2005. In the years since, it has continued to respond to community needs throughout the country particularly in the separate but closely interrelated areas of education, community development, capacity building and womens empowerment. To this day, AREPs extensive experience managing multiple projects in the aforementioned sectors has provided it with the managerial skills needed to work in complex and rapidly-changing environments.
AREP is governed by a board of directors coming from diverse background including NGO executives, educators and civil society activists. Fiduciary responsibilities include ensuring that internal controls are implemented effectively, overseeing the audit process, developing conflict of interest protocols, reviewing budgets, monitoring performance and assuring compliance with applicable laws.
Executive Director Amanullah Aman leads a highly-qualified team to manage AREPs activities based on annual work plans and budgets consistent with the organizations mission and objectives. AREP currently employs over 80 individuals, most of which are based in in the provinces. Five departments overseen by the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director include: (1) Program, (2) HR/Administration; (3) Finance; (4) Procurement; and (5) Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
A functioning and sustainable organization with qualified staff, well-developed systems and effective leadership that provides quality services to the equipped with the qualified human resource, information, tools and equipment and are able to implement projects in 34 provinces of Afghanistan and proudly saying that the 24 years of experience has proved that AREP is one of the successful organizations in the community and can lead its activities successfully throughout Afghanistan.
AREP has implemented different types of educational, capacity building, women improvement and community development project from different organization such as USAID (LGCD, ASI ASMED and RAMP-UP-EAST), British Council TAWANMANDI, UN Agencies (UNDP, UNHCR, UN-Habitat, WFP), The Asia Foundation, ADF, Embassies (USA, Japan, Italy), BRAC, Ministries (MoE and MRRD/NSP, MAIL), Care International, PAC, FHI 360, IOM, SIKA-East and so on,.
