Benefits and Financial Aids

The Elisabeth & Amélie Fund Scholarships provides the below items for winning applicants:

  • A maximum grant of €5,000
  • Covers costs associated with the internship, including transportation, accommodation, and specific materials required for the project
  • It DOES NOT cover general-purpose equipment like computers, touch pads, cameras, dictaphones, etc.
  • May finance particular equipment needed for the internship, such as GPS and multi-parameter probes
  • Funding for on-site helpers if their role, profile, and tasks are detailed in the application

Eligibility Criteria

You must meet these requirements:

  • Applicants must be nationals of a developing country (OECD-DAC countries outside Europe listed below)
  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s, Bachelor after Bachelor’s, or Master after Master’s program at a Belgian educational institution (University or Haute Ecole)
  • The internship must be related to the water theme and support the work for the student’s end-of-year thesis.

Selection Process

The selection process is as follows:

  • An Independent jury will select the candidates
  • The announcement of selected candidates will be in December 2024
  • Fellows must provide an evaluation report of their internship based on the King Baudouin Foundation’s criteria, along with a 5 to 10-minute video explaining the project.
  • Approximately ten grants are available in the final step
